no rain no rainbow

no rain no rainbow

A Poem by Namrata
"

like the day comes after the night, and the brook passes wilderness to join the sea.

"

Last night you didn't come to me

My emotions waiting to expunge

My rage fired up

And down came the thunder

The lightning streaks traced the routes of the heartbreak you gave me

And then, the clouds cried with me

I lived in a barren land

Without water,dehydrated my soul was

No lively green spurt

Only hot , humid sighs of repent

Was waiting for spring to come

As a baggage with you

But you made me wait for long

Few hours in the dark felt like a lifetime

in a space bound supernova twirling around me.

I went into oblivion, trance showing me blinding lights

And I felt wet lips on my cheeks

A breeze swayed over my face

I heard the rustle of leaves

I opened my eyes

Could smell the petals and their vibrant hues

All of a sudden, my senses have gained momentum

You were there, right there with me in your arms

You led me to the window

Slid the curtains

I gazed at the beautiful garden

Your love was clearly blooming around me

I couldn't help but jump, laugh and dance

Sunshine playing hide and seek with our silhouettes

And you told me, how the thunder from last night

Was the obstacle you overcame

Lightning streak was the silver lining to your hard work

And the ghastly dark clouds

Gave up, melted their way to reward you on your love for me

Now, we are lying on soft grass

With a rainbow overhead

Don't be sorry for last night dear.

Now we both know,

"There is no rainbow without a little rain".

Well thank you, so much !
Such a beautiful poem. The words you used were strong and made me admire your work. This part stood out to me the most because it was so powerful and emotional but still going back to the title
"My emotions waiting to expunge
My rage fired up
And down came the thunder
The lightning streaks traced the routes of the heartbreak you gave me
And then, the clouds cried with me"

Thank you Jasmine. :D

I'm taken aback by your complex metaphorical interpretations.. This poem had that silky smooth caress of soft blue ribbons on my intellect.. a progressively flowering essence at the back of the mind that matches so vividly well with the epitome perceived in the last few lines.. You're such a graceful poet Namrata, and you have inspired me so much! :) peace

Pleasure again. I love using metaphors.
