Waiting for You

Waiting for You

A Poem by Namrata
"

People fail to see what is right in front of them.

"
I seated myself on the bench of hopes
Waiting for you to come and make them true
The sun went down in my world
You were nowhere to be seen
I have counted the million merry stars
They are nothing to me
The sand of time slid between my fingers
But I kept my hopes strong and stronger
That you would pour the rain of love
And make the sand stop for eternity
The moonlight shone on my face
But there was no you to cast a shadow
I missed it so much, can't express through words
The dawn came walking slowly
Only then did my eyes open
I gazed in despair at the grass of truth
Suppressed beneath my feet
All along you danced on leaves
Shone every morning hoping I would see
But I, I ignored all of it
Now what is left to do
Nothing. Nothing, but to wait
Wait again for a dewy morning
That might come
After the blue moon shines.

the imagery here sculpts an effective set of sequences to purport that elusive, pragmatic, magical yearning that is but a 'painless' comfort.. You can wait all you want with no knowledge of dejection, despair or threats of disappointment that could possibly derail your drive to wait, wait wait.. and wait.. thanks for sharing Namrata.. yet another lovely piece from a genius of our times..

If you focus on what you don't have, you're gonna forget about what you do have. Hallelujah. :D

Thank you for the reviews Parimal.
"I seated myself on the bench of hopes

i like how you good you are at dictating and how when that person left the light in your life disappeared and how you waited for the person to make your hopes true.

"The dawn came walking slowly
Only then did my eyes open
I gazed in despair at the grass of truth"

like how when dawn came is when you realized that the rain( the person you waited for) isn't coming and gazed at the grass for you have found out the truth.

"All along you danced on leaves
Shone every morning hoping I would see"

and how the morning dew of dawn tried to get your attention but ignored it.

"Wait again for a dewy morning
That might come"

i like how you wait for the dewy morning which is your soul mate and that then you realize that person is your soul mate. overall i love how your poem shows great symbolism and is something everyone can relate to in some way.
