A House Not Home.A Poem by Simran KewlaniPay close attention, hear the beeping.
The same dusty bookshelf collecting an enormous collection of words strung together,
The same photographs hanging on the old, cracked walls, The words together forming a melody of its own, The photographs whispering stories they have woven, The old dusty house has not been a home for very long. The people you have met, the memories you have kept, The numerous places you have been to, the immense knowledge you have gained, The conversations you have had and the adventures you have been a part of have left their mark on the house like battle scars. Yet, the old dusty house has not been a home for very long. The exteriors are worn out and dead, whereas the interiors are continually rotting, Lack of movement, emotion and humans have stilled my body beyond belief, Stuck on the date I lost it all, the day I was laid in that bed, I haven’t felt like myself anymore, This old dusty house has been a home for very long. -Simran Kewlani 11th February, 2018 © 2018 Simran KewlaniAuthor's Note
