Judgments.

Judgments.

A Poem by Simran Kewlani
"

Society never changes.

"

Jumping and squealing she sang through her day,
All the way with a wide grin lighting up her face.

"She has no problems", they said,
Little did they know her life was a huge mess.

Trudging down the road with a frown painted on her pale face,
She neither smile nor did she cry.

"Does she ever smile?", their judgemental voices echoed,
Looking down at her they walked away.

Simran: I loved it!!! You are so clever and correct. Judgement; wonderful title. The visual is sad, but like you said, society's judgements never change. People never know what another person is going through, and they need to be kind and considerate. I try, I know you do too. Great writing. Dale

sounds like she can't win, smile or frown they will judge her either way, the shame of society is its ability to judge that which it does not understand but judges anyway, well written poem Simran :)

Thank you, Pushkar. :)
ahhh yes - and therein lies our thoughts about what people think of us - and really who gives a damn right ? It's funny because I have been thinking about this subject a lot lately and it has come back to the fear that resides within us - we are always doubting, questioning and not believing in self -- and why? yes why? Did you know the Kahuna's in Hawaii never had a word for doubt until white man rocked up on their fair shores? I mean - imagine that - think of the possibilities of living a life without DOUBT!!! Man we would be singing and squealing, dancing a jig and embracing all life has to offer - which of course is based on the other residing emotion in our lives - LOVE !!!

Your poem - well - look how much it got me thinking - I can see exactly what you are doing here - and I question if the emphasis is on those judging or the narrator - you can look at it both ways - goodness knows I have in my wee little head over the years.

There is a deeper level but one is still able to swim on the surface which is great.

Well done X

"Criticize if required". That note shouldn't even exist.

No one should criticize this, well...not negatively.
