Nightmares.

Nightmares.

A Poem by Simran Kewlani

Nerve wrecking and heart breaking are these dreams,
Dragging her away from reality into a world of insanity,
Holding her hostage tied under the tree,
Waiting for lightening to strike her dream.

Malice and hatred are evident in its fiery eyes,
Hoping for tears and ear shattering screams.

Scared of the dark and its red-eyed demons,
She did not live, merely survived.

Waking up to the blazing sun,
She wiped her cheeks and spread a smile,
Hoping for people to believe she's fine,
She walked into reality still weary of the coming nights.

Hi guys! Sorry, I've been inactive on writerscafe for a while. I had a terrible writers block, but I finally have something worth putting up here. I really like this poem for some odd reason. I hope you feel the same. :)

Waking up to the blazing sun,
She wiped her cheeks and spread a smile,
Hoping for people to believe she's fine,
She walked into reality still weary of the coming nights......these words touched me in many ways...:))

Simran: Oh I do, it's so intriguing. The visual is amazing, such wonderful flow. It's scary too: I could see her under the tree frozen within the dream of terror, caged and full of fear. I LOVE the line: Waiting for lightning to strike her dream. Wow, amazing. You are so talented. She did not live...she merely survived. It's like you're saying, such a horrible nightmare, she is awaking changed, not as she was, which you continue on by saying "Hoping for people to believe she's fine. I also love She wiped her tears and SPREAD A SMILE. I love it...So glad to read your poem. Please write more soon. You will fulfill your dream of becoming a writer; I just know it. Amazing! Thank you so very much. Dale

Nightmare is just a scar that everyone gets. Haunting the minds and we try to run away. But it comes back to each and everyone. But nevertheless you have written it very well and that it is great.

It's a good work after writer's block, I haven't written anything readable from last 2 months. The intensity is maintained like your earlier poem. I was just confused with ' ear shattering scream' what do you think about 'deafening'?
