Choices.

Choices.

A Poem by Simran Kewlani
"

None of us chose to be who we are.

"
I screamed,
They taunted.

I cried,
They laughed.

I shook in fear,
They shook in happiness.

I had my reasons to die,
They had their reasons to live.

I had a weapon in my hand,
They had their love.

I pleaded for mercy,
But they gave me none.

At the end I was told,
"You are nothing but a Marilyn Monroe."

But, they forgot,
She was sexy, beautiful and smart.

Great job with expression here. Many do taunt at others in life but many times the wise choose to be silent. Many times it takes more strength to be silent than to speak.

The eye that beholds true beauty looks beyond the outward appearance and sees the heart, soul, and spirit. Outward beauty has its place but it will never build a strong foundation for a lasting relationship. Like sand, it shall wash away when the storms rage but that which is built with strong material shall stand.

It's simple, yet the message comes out strong. It's nothing fancy, but it's really good. Simmay, nice one :)

An ominous piece Simran, could have ended in a real tragedy, took this a few places in my mind, you lightened it up with MM, yet it made a huge impact.

Your very welcome. :-)
I like the succinctness within your words... it shows strength and yet alludes to no strength at all ...

in your opening word though - none of us choose to be who we are ... hmmmm I would have to say I disagree with that ...

nevertheless though your words made me stop, pause and re-read again and again ... well done xx

The greatest asset someone can have is to be underestimated… that way you can use the element of surprise to achieve your goals.
