Fading

Fading

A Poem by William
"

i'm dying for just another moment and i'm just dreaming, counting the ways to where you are.

"

you wind around me, entwined,

trailing your fingertips down my back,

igniting fires, i’m burning from the touch.                      (set me on fire,)

[i’m burning for you]

you’re so many  beautiful clichés.

you are robed in the shining stars,

and your face is as radiant as the moon.                          (i’ll be your star.)

[i’m shining for you]

you are birdsong, you are as free as the sky,

as captive as imagination,

you have captivated me.                                                      (take wing and fly with me,)

[i’m singing for you]

you are the reason the sun shines.

you are why people smile,

you are hope, you are warmth in winter.                          (i will hold you up.)

[i’m smiling for you]

you are grace embodied.

lithe and stunning, life’s dancer

in endless circles.                                                                 (you are poetry in motion,)

[i’m waiting for you]

it is impossible that you exist, a goddess

of imagination and beauty.

but here we are, finally as one.                                           (you are why i take these breaths--)

[i’m longing for you]

you are a nebulous recollection

of how it should be--how we should be--

the beautiful beginning, the inevitable end.                         (the angel’s muse.)

[i’m living for you]

and now, as you press my hand to your temple,

shedding those lovely tears, i’m dying for just another moment.

i fade away to the beep of hospital machines.                        (you have made it all worthwhile.)

[i’m dying for you]

The structure to this fabulous! I am so pleased to have read this love! Outstanding work...the enforcing of the emotion after each stanza is breathtaking and the message - wow! What a build up! Brilliantly voiced! xx
