My Flower in December

My Flower in December

A Poem by simplisticwoman

When my path grows dark and dreary,

That is when I see your light,

And a flower begins to emerge again.

It shows me that even in the cold of December

Your love is still there, and it comforts me.

You showed me that there is still beauty

You showed me that life is an adventure

You showed me the deepest parts of your soul

When I feel myself stop breathing

All I have to do is think of you

And I breathe again and smile

Because you use to say, "JoAnna, just breathe"

We stood together once and just breathed skin on skin

Yes my heart still does long for you

As winter moves in my mind goes back

It goes back to the first day I met you

And I start to think about the first night

That I got to lay with you under the stars

Even though it is cold now, as I think of you

My body begins to warm and it feels as

Though I am there in your arms again

Yes its December, but if feels like May.

Thank you for bringing me light and Love

Because of you I get to have flowers in December...

Wow sis. I had no idea. This is incredibly beautiful. The rhyme, the meter, the message. All culminate into one fantastic piece.
