Shall I Walk Through This World

Shall I Walk Through This World

A Poem by simplisticwoman

Shall I walk through this world
With blinders on
Shall I walk through this  world
And not be captivated
Shall I walk through this world
And let it destroy me

I say no to the blinders
I say no if the captivation hinders
I say no to the devastating power

I chose to walk through this world
fully aware of its darkening spirit
I chose to walk through this world
and not be lured into things that bind
I chose to walk through this world
and give a testimony of a wonderful life

I say yes to loves long embrace
I say yes to daily devotion of time
I say yes to a soul searching to belong

Belong to the wilderness if you dare be brave
Belong to the road that goes anywhere
Belong to whatever strengthens you
Belong to something that truly needs your touch

A touch of grace
A touch of humility
A touch of caress
A touch of love

Just walk through and leave footprints

I choose to see the world for what it really is, cold, cruel, and callused. For me the glass is neither half empty or half full, it is simply always full. I am a realist, no sugar coating to make palatable the bitter pill, no pretty little wrapper and bow to hide the truth. Very well done Sis. Again though the repetitiveness is a touch bothersome.

Sometimes its hard to chose...but I love the freedom we have to do so. Thank you Mercy.
