Leaves Floating On The Pool

Leaves Floating On The Pool

A Poem by simplisticwoman

They ride along and caress the side
There are a few floating together
They go where they please

I see a giant heart form
As they ride the ripples of water
They come together
And they quickly disappear

You can see underneath them
All around them
No one cares that they are there
Except for the one that is looking

They move along not caring where they go
Free from law, rules, and entrapment
They aren't bound by the box of society

They stay as long as they can
Unnoticed by the hurried man
But if you'll stop and take a moment
They speak to you as nothing else can

But in a little while
They will be swept away
And maybe perhaps
Thrown away
By the hurried man

But for a moment
In my day
They spoke to my human soul
The leaves floating on the pool

So far Sis, this one is my favorite, I really like the "hurried man" very cool. In the second stanza, last line, I would use the word dispersed instead of disappeared though, it's a touch stronger and fits with the rest of the stanza. I think. But this is very good...!

What an interesting way of seeing leaves on a pool. I personally liked that the poem transports the reader to a whole other world. It's a very honest poem, too. Nice job. I just wanted to point one thing out: the beginning was a little weak compared to the rest of the poem. My suggestion is making the third stanza the first stanza instead. Other than that, good job.
