Dream

Dream

A Poem by Nae Nae

With my best friend,
Whom I've always wanted more.
Laying and laughing,
Happy to the core.
His face begins to change,
A sad and twisted smile.
I couldn't speak,
Not for a while.
He looked down once,
I followed his eyes.
Under me the floor was gone,
I gave a discouraged glaze.
I grabbed the ledge,
That was under your feet.
I looked to you for help,
But my eyes you wouldn't meet.
A tear rolled down your cheek,
My eyes welled up with my own.
I reached for your hand,
You only looked below.
You turned and walked away,
Like I was already gone.
Like I barely ever mattered,
Like those words we never spoke.
