What Have I Done?

You made me hurt

You made me cry

He said hurtful words ...

                           But you saved my life.

You pushed me down

Tried to run MY life

You kicked me around

                          But you saw me cry.

You beat me emotionally

Threw me to the ground

You broke my heart

                           But you made my heart pound.

 

You hurt me, and I couldn't bear it

But when I left you,

My ears wouldn't hear it.

It hurts to be with you

It hurts to be without  you.

But I'd rather be loving you

That crying without you.

So what have I done?

I've hurt us both!

Alas, one may choose to cling to a hurtful love than lonliness. But one will never find a better love until they learn to let go. I'm better at giving this advice than taking it. Good poem. Well written.
