For Cal.A Poem by Dara[DRAMATIC]I am in fact from the deep South and I reside their now(not sayin' where exactly) but this was inspired by my relatives ranch. God, I love it there, most of all Cal.I love sweet tea, bareback ridin', and permanent farmer's tans I love boys who get tractors to drive for their "Sweet 16" And girls who get their momma's secret potato salad recipe I love how you call everyone by their first name 'Cept your momma and daddy otherwise you'd get a whoopin' I love houses built to watch the sunset And rockin' on your porch while you watch the litle ones catch fireflies I love deep South accents and using the words ain't & ya'll And people who try to correct you I love Sunday morning gospel in a one room churchhouse And Sunday afternoon roughhousing with your cousins on the lawn I love the hard-working country boys that were born into it And the city boys still trying to learn our way of life I love pretty sundresses to wear on warm, summer days While you eat your homemade lunch outside at high noon And wearing your Gavin's old cover-alls to go frog-catchin' in the creek I love newborn creatures and feeding the orphaned calves And watching as they grow bigger each day I love my extremely crazy family of amazing cooks I love my tractor-ridin', bronc-wranglin', bull-ridin' country boy And the warm August nights spent naming stars While we layed on your grandma's hand-made quilt in the dewy grass Most of all, I love the time we shared together each summer And that you love me back...
**I love you, Cal. More than you know. ** **Here's to Nevaeh&Aidenn, our future stars...**
