Beautiful blossoms of blue in late June.

The tall Chicory

sways before the wind,   

fields of azure blue.

The Chicory flower is thought to been the inspiration for the "Blue Flower", the official symbol of the Romanticism Movement. (Europe, 1800 - 1850)

Love the title. I can picture this so clearly, the wind caressing the chicory. An ocean of azure swell. Your note about the symbol of romanticism an interesting one. This makes such a wonderful metaphor too Watercress. Well done. I am loving your work here. Nearly missed this one though.

Thank you so much Chris. You are a true mentor of the First Order. This poem was written about a large neglected field in an industrial development where the Chicory has gained dominance. You have described it perfectly as it does look like sea swells when the wind is up.
