"Binky, Ugga Mugga!.."

"Binky, Ugga Mugga!.."

A Poem by Valorie J. Shearer
"

This Is An Ode To My Beautiful Baby Boy! (((((Binky)))))

"

He was born on the 16th day of December, 1987 at 5:07 PM.

19 inches, and 7 lbs. 7 ounces with jet black hair, and warm brown eyes,

the color of profound thought!..

I could not believe that it was possible to love someone

so much that I had never met!

My life was forever changed, and I thanked God for him!

His laughter was like listening to angel's sing!

He was beautiful, and sweet with tiny beauty marks

on his face, which I referred to as angel kisses!

Growing up, he always cared so much about everyone, and

everything around him.  When I was sad, or not feeling well, he

would take my face in his little hands, kiss my eyes, nose, cheeks,

and say, "I love you so very much mommy!"  I was truly blessed!

He was always the first to stop the other kids in the neighborhood

from hurting animals, or making fun of someone!  I felt that was a very

important attribute to instill in him.

He loved to watch "The Elephant Show", and we would always sing

Skin-Na-Ma-Rinky-Dinky-Doo!  His favorite books  were "Goodnight Moon", and

"Green Eggs, And Ham".   He insisted on hearing both every night!  He loved for

me to sing "You Are My Sunshine", and "Close To You"..

Now, a man.  20 yrs old, 6'4, and 186 lbs. with thick dark brown hair,

and an Adonis like smile that could melt you into ice cream!

I am so very proud of him, and love him so much causing my heart to ache!

The memories I have sustain me through my life, and more than I could ever ask for!.. Thank you God for my son,  (((((Christopher Daniel Shearer)))))

Valarie, this is heart touching and absolutely beautiful, you put your heart and soul
into every word and any child would be lucky to have a mother as caring, loving, embracing, the depths and scope of creative thought accentuate the meaning, you have a way with words that never cease to amaze the reader, such passion and honesty.

Mournful missings of our youth
Ain't that the truth
But time has yet for many things
So let the angels' wings
Flutter as they smile
For all the while
You've done your well
And come to tell
Of your darling little boy
Now grown into a man

Well done mother. And well he should blush for he has mused you on to writing. That is where it flies high.
and this where I can only judge it well. Thanks.

I thought this was really heartfelt
You really put your emotions out for everyone to read on this one
The flow was really nice and carried you throughout the piece.

This brought tears to my eyes. It's so heartfelt, but never seems overly sappy. I have two very young boys, who are asleep now, but I"m going to go give them a little kiss on their foreheads.
