A Forgotten Dream

A Forgotten Dream

A Poem by Thanatos Darkraven

Pieces lay scattered on the floor

Dashed against the wall of reality

No one bothers to sweep up

The broken bits of my heart

And so they lay

Nothing but a forgotten dream.

It was perfect when it first began

We loved each other night and day

We were always with one another

Laughing and having fun

We never thought that things would end

As nothing but a fogotten dream.

We imagined our lives together

Happily married you and I

We dreamt of how nice it would be

To spend eternity together

But we didn't know we were dreaming

Something that would become a forgotten dream.

We slowly started drifting away

Our love slowly died

We didn't talk the way we used to

We forgot that we still cared

And soon our fondest memories

Became nothing but a forgotten dream

So now we've gone our seprate ways

We've learned to say goodbye

Neither of us wanted to leave

But now we can only imagine

What it would've been like

If we had lived our forgotten dream....
