One Chance

One Chance

A Poem by Thanatos Darkraven

I gave you a chance to make things ok

I gave you my heart but you threw it away

I used to love you, used to love you a lot

I used to care about you but now I do not

You left me alon, cold, broken and battered

Like a piece of old clothing worn, torn, and tatterd

You ripped through my emotions and didn't seem to care

Like they wre a picnic basket and you were Yogi Bear

how could you do this? How could you let me down?

And leave me to cry six feet underground?

You shattered my dreams and cast my love to the wind

You wounded my soul, but eventually I will mend

I've finally moved on, I've forgotten about you

I found some one who won't hurt me the way you do

I gave you a chance to make things okay

I gave you my heart, but you threw it away...

This is great. I really like the similes you used.
My favorite was:
"You left me alone, cold, broken, and battered
Like a piece of old clothing worn, torn, and tattered"

I love that imagery, the rythym, and the rhyme. It's great.

One thing I noticed though, I believe in the third line you meant to write "I used to love you" not "live you." Just a typo I'm sure. Great poem, though. Thanks for sharing.
