Behind Your Mask

Behind Your Mask

A Poem by Thanatos Darkraven

You want me to believe you’re strong,

But behind your mask I know you’re weak.

You want me to believe you’re fearless,

But behind your mask, I know you’re a coward.

You want me to believe in you,

But I know that behind your mask

You don’t believe in yourself.

Behind your mask is the face you want no one to see.

Behind your mask lies a face racked with guilt.

I always thought I saw your true face,

But now I understand that the face I saw,

Was never really there.

You want me to believe I’m wrong.

Well then, take off your mask and prove me wrong.

I like that. It's strong. And the last statement is very powerful.
