LingerA Poem by ~Sorcha~Just a lil thing I made up because I am still really happy that my baby is now starting to kick ^___^It lingers, that sensation, that touch; like butterflies wings, or the coolness of ocean waves. What is this? My body shivers, my pulse is light, breathing steady, a small pulse in my stomache. A touch of feeling, strange and different; what could it be?
Then realization dawns, the baby kicked! Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! I place my hand on my belly, but it's silent once more.
The joy doesn't fade, that memory of movement lingers. My baby, my precious little someone, moving inside me, alive.
My beloved and I, laughing, hugging, our child is kicking, our child is happy.
The journey has only begun, half way started, halfway done, in spring new life will join us, and joy is all that remains. © 2009 ~Sorcha~ |
