JEWEL

JEWEL

A Poem by Allen Christopher Harding

I possess a gem that is not easily found,

a gem that is absent even in the depths of the ground.

More precious than any diamond that may be sold,

this gem has a worth that far surpasses platinum and gold.

More precious than what one can imagine in ones’ dream,

my lover my confidant the one who will be my queen.

I possess a gem with whom I can confide,

patiently waiting for the day she becomes my bride.
