Gravity

Gravity

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

A fond memory of an encounter with the Wild.

"
The old roads,
the spirit roads.
Running, pulling, calling,
"This is true Power."
Memory and sadness
laced with the force of gravity.
The call of wilderness,
of fear, of mystery,
of green-lit valley paths,
turning corners around Universes.
Roads crowned in wild ivy,
heavy with mist and birdsong.
The rush of flowing water.

Water rushing, falling, calling,
pulling me forward, relentless.
Wind and shadow push.
Green eyes watching, hiding
in the ivy madness all around.

Push.
Pull.
Feel.

Dragged forward unceasingly,
by sorrow's song and heart's magic.
Guiding, stumbling, crazed laughter.
I am falling forward, caught in the green magic,
walking, running, sprinting,
sweat and spiderweb all over, yet
I find I don't care.
Nothing is real but the new world
around the corner.

Inhale... Exhale...

Inhale............. Exhale.............

Time lost, preserved, gained
in the wild of green river-valley.

Memory and magic, sorrow, gravity.
