Another Level

Another Level

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

Just some thoughts I had about the universe... :)

"

How small we are.

How BIG we are.

Galaxies beneath our skin,

skin all around, blood pulsing.

The Milky Way rushing, diamond blood,

the Ruby Way inside, coursing

stars and lifetimes.

Tears shed, rain falling,

lost love and lives lost.

Love that never could be,

worlds that never should have been,

ending in protons, photons, electrons.

Yet universes live on,

shrinking while growing, persevering.

Always, another level to destroy.

Always, another level survives.

Nothing is true but the spin of the Wheel,

landing us flat on our faces.

Faces gone, faces coming.

ALWAYS, another level.

my favortie line was the one about the ruby way! for me it depicted the blood that's coursing through my body, but you made it like the stars, you made it beautiful....and you made the poem dark.....i love it great piece!
