Second Sight

Second Sight

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

This poem, while not particularly original, got me through the boredom of finals week.

"
Renew your body, soul, and mind
In first song of the morning's light.
As time begins anew you find
That inner peace brings second sight.

The sight will teach the ancient ways
Through stone, through sound, to time's unfold,
Transcending life's unyielding maze,
A power only death can hold.

Seek truth in shadow, flame in waves,
And look beyond what others see,
For true perception always saves
The deepest soul to be set free.

Great beauty hides just out of reach,
A twist of mind away from you,
So hear what windsong has to teach,
Those whispers from the endless blue.

The heavens spin, the year-wheel turns
As destiny unfolds its way,
For worlds collide in Samhain's burns
To find rebirth at winter's day.
