Summer Bliss

Summer Bliss

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

Ah, the begining of summer. :)

"

Joy saturates the very air

as the warm amber rays of the sun

fill the hollows of the earth.

The wind itself is singing,

carrying the love and elation

of the Golden Lord

through the tall, proud palm trees,

over the distant green hills,

and beyond, so that all peoples

may know its touch.

Summer takes hold over the world

in the strong scent of sunscreen,

in the salty, ocean spray,

in the rhythm of music

that pours out windows

as water from a cup overflowing.

All creatures of the good Earth celebrate

in the warm, starry nights

and fragrant, windy days

along the glittering shore of the sea.

As always, feel free to critique. Also, note that this is probably only my first draft. It will be a work-in-progress throughout summer so that I can try to capture as many feelings and images as I can.
