The Great Circle

The Great Circle

A Poem by Justin Tobey

As the Circle is cast,

time unravels its weave.

The barriers of reality

evaporate, fall away,

as a new power takes hold.

The twinkling stars

and smiling moon

take on new life

as the quarters rise up,

columns of energy

protecting and watching.

As the spell is woven,

our minds open up

to the true nature of the universe.

The true Quarters of the compass,

and the great magick circle

encompassing the whole world:

the blazing crimson horizon

and slowly twirling mists.

Enfolding the entire universe,

the Circle connects all things,

combining the quiet power

of the gentle Goddess

and the fierce fire

of the golden Lord.

Never fading or dying,

the Circle holds all in sacred space.

Nothing escapes its grasp,

for it stretches beyond

the barriers of the world

and into the uncertain mist

of the realms of the spirits.

Very pretty adjectives! It creates a wonderful imagery of the universe...
I love it. Such an excellent read for Imbolc.

Justin - This lacks your usual "flow", but as always, the images you stir up are magical.
