Sands of TimeA Poem by Justin TobeyWe lose ourselves in the ruby wind, sands of time rising, falling, amidst the diamond tears and beaming smiles of those who are caught in it.
The dunes shift like captured waves of gold, amber, cloud. Ripples of shadow and silver across the desert sky flicker under starry heavens.
The coming end, blazing flames consuming all to capture rolling grains in an endless sea of smooth glass. Rain falls, dies, and is reborn.
Echoes of silent voices ring across empty skies. Limitless night envelopes the glossy ocean of crystal below: a mirror of infinite stars. © 2008 Justin TobeyAuthor's Note
