Indigo SkiesA Poem by Justin TobeyInspired by a trip to the pool last night... : )Gentle, lullaby waves caress and embrace me in the tranquil midnight pond.
I lie on my back, pondering the sky. Though deep, swirling mists and thick blankets of cloud cover the beautiful abyss, pale, soft light shines through, painting the twilight sky like spilled water colors.
First is the usual midnight blue, but then, it brightens to indigo with subtle tones of tropical magenta. As the night deepens, the sky brightens to a faded pink, then a bright violet.
As I float in the peaceful waters, I gaze upward towards infinity, falling upward in its gentle pull. The universe beckons, veiled by these beautiful ribbons and tapestries of indigo cloth. © 2008 Justin TobeyAuthor's Note
