TwilightA Poem by Justin TobeyI really like the time between day and night. I'm not sure if twilight only refers to sunset, but I don't care. :DSilent, pervasive darkness stills the chilling, fresh, night air. Deep, deep blue shards of cloud coat the infinite abyss of the indigo sky. They drift ever so slowly, giving a shield against the overwhelming deep, and yet, somehow, they had even more depth to the unknowable, untouchable void.
The occasional star twinkles and flickers, scattering before the silvery waves of sparkling, shimmering moonlight. It blazes a diamond path through the heavens in its nightly cycle of light against dark.
Finally, the night-orb sets its radiance against the smooth, rippling waves in the West, as pale light spreads across the horizon in waves of pink, amber, purple, and grey. As all of nature's bounty holds its breath, twilight wraps its soft, caressing arms in a warm, greeting embrace to the world. © 2008 Justin TobeyAuthor's Note
