![]() FlightA Poem by Justin Tobey![]() This comes from a flying dream I had as a small child. I hope you like it!![]() In the largest meadow, Sits a tree, where miracles Bloom, grow, and ripen In the silver sunlight.
Clouds become misty veils To let in only the purest Of the grey sunbeams To the land of miracles.
I walk with confidence And pluck a blue apple From the lowest branch, Standing on my toes.
Tingling, cobalt energy Surges through in waves Of strength and joy. I feel like jumping to the moon.
Gravity pushes harder And then, finally, releases. I rise, hovering above, Slightly scrunched.
Full laughter erupts Like bells and birds. I will myself higher, And fly above the tree.
In the largest meadow, Sits a tree, where miracles Bloom, grow, and ripen In the silver sunlight.
While I fly above, watching. © 2008 Justin TobeyAuthor's Note
