The MoonA Poem by Justin TobeyA tribute to the moon...The sun's light fades As the golden disc Hides behind a curtain Of pink and purple clouds.
To the east, a pale sliver Of diamond radiance Coats the dark horizon And spreads its arms.
The moon rises slowly, Half-hidden by the shreds Of swirling, milky mist And tall tree branches.
The myriad stars dim In comparison to Her lovely beams Of silver-blue light.
As she reaches her zenith, The moon slows the orbit To shine as a beacon Above the chaotic world.
She passes slowly Across the starry dome. The western sky and sea Beckon to her.
Sliding down, she Is just above the edge, Stuck between day and night. Golden rays shine to the east.
The moon's light fades As the silver disc Hides behind a curtain Of deep, endless clouds. © 2008 Justin TobeyAuthor's Note
