![]() The Ebb and FlowA Poem by Justin Tobey![]() This poem was inspired by a recent trip to the beach on a cloudy day.![]() The seas churn, Crashing against the sandy shores. Though the grey waters reflect the sky, The splashing waves hold some Of the green hue of pure ocean.
Moist, salty air Sprays forward, spreading the influence Of the stormy sea's spirit. It fills the atmosphere for miles around, Displaying the ocean's true dominance.
Far away, Rocky cliffs rebound the waves As they erupt in a misty wall of spray Up over the black stone. Constantly, land and sea battle.
Another gust Whips up the unstoppable waves, Displaying the power of the ebb And flow of the pure tide: Pushing and pulling the water. © 2008 Justin TobeyAuthor's Note
