i think silence is an underrated aspect of a relationship.

when you know the other is feeling wronged, upset or emotional,

and you know they're not vocal about their feelings.

take it one step at a time.

start with silence.

start with simple understanding and acceptance.

this was why i fell for you.

we were two crumpled balls of paper in the trash.

fantastic mental image, i know.

we were two crumpled balls of paper,

once opened, the realization that

we were two halves of the same sheets of paper

sets in.

you were understanding,

compassionate. 

you were the only one to ask me if i was okay.

even if i always showed that i was.

you cared.

you delved into my thoughts, invaded it.

you dug a hole too deep and now you can't climb out.

i'm sorry.

i can't help you out.

i'm stuck in the same hole.

i've never met anyone who's as simple,

yet as complex as you are.

the puzzle piece that could go in any place.

many would say i am speaking of things i do not know about.

hell, i don't.

but what i do know,

is that you and i together 

is one of the things

i will forever be grateful for.

it's you i am grateful for.

grateful for the music, the words, the math,

grateful for the care.

most of all, i am grateful for the silence.

we started to learn the value and worth of silence.

i just hope it doesn't end with it.
