To UnderstandA Poem by MelindaI wrote this for a grade in English, my teacher submitted it, and it was published shortly afterI should quit writing, like everyone tells me but when my words are put to paper I can't abscond the rhyming
Who are you to judge my life until you've walked that mile in my shoes been through the ridicule I have put up with the words of these fools
Can you see the phantoms of my past as horrible as it was their soulless, colorless eyes staring as coldly as a vulture does
They want so badly to tell you the reason I can't write that has so much to do with the violence of the dreams I have at night
But these dreams do not make me who I am only the sands of time will tell If you can truly read between the lines and listen to my story well. © 2008 MelindaAuthor's Note
