Fear

Fear

A Poem by Niya Moon

Fearful of what people think,

I hide from the world

Fearful of a broken heart,

I keep it to myself.

Silence is my prison

Fear is my keeper

Wounded in my spirit

I want to sleep forever

Always shielded away from other

In my little bubble.

But sometimes I see a light

Form the window in my soul.

The light draws me forward, but

My Fear holds me back.

I cry because I know I will die in all this black.

But something on the outside

That light that calls my name.

Its tearing down my window, and

Replacing it with a doorframe.

The lover of my soul is near and now I know

Yes, now I know

I will not die here, wrapped in all this mess,

The light it calls my name.

In this sea of bitterness, God’s Grace will light my way

I will listen to His call for

And I will walk by the crystal sea for all

Of Eternity.
