Dewdrops and imagination

Dewdrops and imagination

A Poem by Sarah
"

what lurks in the fog?

"

Dewdrops and imagination are what transform this dusty mist,

its presence cast walls on our peripheral mind and sight as it lurks with,

crawls with,

things only our omnithoughtfull minds could perceive

This dusty white slowly fragments confidance, decays bravery,

it hides no more than the autumns fallen leaves, that is until

they crunch under the weight of a 'just do it' foot, or a peony, plastered to a rubber galosh

crunch crunch SNAP

lurking, crawling, hiding behind that dusty mist

The panic that chokes down the dusty white, forgetting the dewdrops, living only the imagination as your own 'all star' feet turn to run,

heart pounding

sounds building

behind that plaguing, lurking, crawling, dusty mist

you pump and stride from the atmosphere, the crunch, the presence

then there stands a glint of open eye,

you realize the dusty mist was eaten up

by none other than the warm guardian of your patience

from the omnithoughtfull lurking, crawling creatures of your personal dusty misty mind.

we fear not darkness alone, we fear the things that stay within it, that we cannot see.
