Anne met Luke in the most surprising way ever..

Growing up in the smallest of the towns of sunny California there was only one college and a very few job opportunities. But thankfully Anne knew the very place she was going to apply to since it was her Grandfather's clock shop. She walked in there with great pride being a new college graduate and ready to take over the business as her own. And to her surprise her grandfather, was talking to a younger gentleman about the same age as her about a job offer. She waltzed over to them and she kindly introduced herself as Anne the new owner well co-owner of the establishment. The younger gentleman's face lit up like she was an angel or something and stuttered and said "I-- I'm Luke it's a pleasure to meet such a beautiful young lady such as yourself." "Are you nervous or something?" Anne said chucklingly. But then she caught a glimpse of his stunning hazel eyes and she felt weak at the knees for the first time in a long time. Luke didn't exactly understand why Anne was quiet for the amount of time she was. Anne started to stutter her words and then she got a huge case of verbal diarrhea. Anne then said something she did not think she would ever say in a million years. "Uh Luke I--I was thinking maybe we could continue this over dinner tonight?" Luke looked at Anne in complete shock and said "Sure why the hell not I'm always down to have dinner with a stunning woman such as yourself. Shall I pick you up around 6 here?" Anne thought to herself well I guess I won't be able to lose track of time if I'm here all day. "Sounds absolutely superb I know this great Italian place down the street a little ways." She went to the back of the store and got ready for her shift so she decided to say goodbye to Luke. When Anne came back out Luke was gone but her Grandfather was in the same place as when Luke was there and he gave her the look and asked how she felt towards him. Anne then asked him, "How did you feel about Grandma when you first met her?" Grandpa was speechless and just had a grin that took up most of his face. Anne looked at her grandfather and said "you see how you're smiling well I felt the same way but didn't want to look crazy since I just met Luke." Anne had customers left and right either buying clocks, selling them, or even asking if they could get them fixed. Before she knew it it was already 5:30 and she ran and switched the open sign to closed. As soon as she was done at the door she ran for the back door and bolted for her car. She had gotten home at 5:40 and said aloud; "S**t, no time for a shower but I don't stink just some perfume should do the trick and a quick change of clothes then I'm out of here to go see Luke."

It was five minutes before 6 o'clock and Anne's palms started to sweat she had never been this nervous. She was just about to pull out her phone to check and see what time it was but then a car's horn startled her and made her jump. It was Luke in his yellow 1955 Ford Thunderbird convertible. Luke spoke so softly and said "Come on, hop in I will be your driver for the evening." Anne looked at him and just chuckled to herself and smiled and ran over to the passenger side and got in without hesitation. Luke said "well I know you said you wanted to go to that Italian place but here's the thing that's kind of my family's restaurant--". Before Luke could even finish his sentence Anne said "Oh! We don't have to go there. How about we go to the pizzeria across town?" "Oh my goodness you just said my favorite word in the whole English language. A PIZZERIA! I actually could eat a whole pie to myself". Anne looked at him and just smiled and thought maybe she could work and date him at the same time, even though she knew how messy it would be if it didn't entirely work out. Luke looked at Anne and then he noticed something that he would never of expected he saw a sparkle in her bright blue eyes and he was hooked. After 10 minutes of a car ride with music playing lowly they got there. Luke got out of the car rather quickly and ran to Anne's side to open the car door for her and took her hand and helped her out. When they got to the host stand the hostess, Kelly showed them to their seats and asked if they wanted to hang up their jackets. Anne slowly took off her light beige trench coat to reveal her stunning slim fitting red strapless dress and Luke's jaw dropped in awe. He was underdressed he thought by just wearing a collared shirt and jeans with a few rips here and there. Anne apologized saying "Sorry I didn't exactly know what to wear tonight so I just grabbed the first thing I could find. It's not too much is it?". "No not at all I think you look remarkable I just wish I could have dressed up a little more I feel bad". Anne just thought he looked cute the way he was. She then said "Maybe we should order now." "Everything looks so good I don't know what I'm gonna get" Luke said examining the menu from top to bottom from front to back and finally decided to get a large pepperoni pizza for him and told Anne to get anything her little heart desired. "I think I am going to have a medium size meat lovers with a side of Caesar salad with extra dressing to dip my pizza in it." Luke looked at Anne like she just said the the magical words 'I love you' but she didn't. Not right now but you can best believe she wanted to so bad. And he wanted her to so he could say it right back to her. Anne stared at Luke for a little bit until she said, "So maybe we should finish your interview now. I have some questions for you before you can work at the clock shop okay? Question one; why do you want to work at a boring old clock shop? Two, why don't you want to leave this town? And three why do you think you would make a good addition to our shop?" Luke looked at her answer ready, his first response was "Anne look I am just going to be straight forward with you on that one. I want to work at the clock shop for one reason alone and that is because I want to work with you. I know that sounds stupid but Anne I saw you every summer when you came to visit I fell in love with you". Anne looked at Luke with a complete shock on her face just in time that the food came out so it looked as though she was shocked by the amount of food coming to the table. Luke couldn't take a first bite because he was waiting for her response. Anne looked at Luke and started to stutter again... "Lu-- Luke uh the thing is when I saw you in that clock shop today I fell in love with you like it was the first time I ever laid eyes on you." Luke looked at her and just smiled cheek to cheek and took a bite of his pizza which was half the slice. Anne look surprised that he could do that but now it was time for her to show off her eating skills. Anne took one bite of her slice and it was to the crust and then laughed with Luke and told him "Sorry grew up with 4 brothers and we had to race to eat or they would take your food." Luke asked her about these supposed brothers she had because he never saw them when she came to visit.
