The humans despised us so.
They feared us.
They wished us dead.
Among the ashes.
Cold in the ground.
I had fallen in love with a lady human.
A fair maiden.
The fairest of the fair.
She took my heart hostage and held it with her own.
Her cheeks were soft and she had long flowing brown hair.
She had a voice that could stand against the beauty of a swan.
And when she sings to me,
I melt on the spot,
Like chocolate in the sun.
But our love could never be.
Not on Earth or
All the galaxy.
I was a monster and
She was a swan.
If we were ever seen together
The lights would go out.
The humans would be angry.
Their faces would turn a purple hue and
The world would be like the chaos in Tokyo city.
The chaos when the frightened reptile arrives.
In the eighth month I fled.
I fled to the mountain tops.
It would break her heart.
I could already hear the glass shattering in her voice.
Uneasy and anxious.
Alone and scared.
Nervous and unsure.
Crestfallen.
But she could never know.
I didn’t want her to be hurt.
The pain would be unbearable;
If the humans all knew.
If they knew I was a beast.
A Wolf.
