L4ZY D4YZ

A Poem by Amelia Angel

Drifting through a world where
imagination becomes real, in even the
slightest thought. Time stops everywhere
but continues for you and your friend.

Gnomes, flying carpets, wizards, talking
books, summer and winter living in harmony at
the same time, side by side.

Bravery is needed for every corner
passed or turned. Where is the sleeping Baby?
The house made so sweet? Under the
bucket maybe. Shall we call for defeat?

Let us sail away together a top
a rubber duck. The ocean made of
squished berries will carry us away.
Away to a place not to fear. One
that is not too far from here.

A place where marshmallows are rain and
rain is tears and tears are to be
glorified then fed you your fish.
Night arrives, washing its
darkness across the sky. There is no
moon; for, each star is a small, but
bright moon itself. They shine proudly
down on you and warm you heart.

You pull the blanket of snow
across you and fluff up a cloud for your
head. You gaze over at your friend
who has found sleep before you again.

"There is much wisdom to learn in life."
Talking mid-sleep you said.
"But for now I am content here in bed."

Love it! Very creative.

I love the "Through the Looking Glass" kind of silliness you've got going on here. I love the simple descriptions of dreamland. They capture both the child-like yearnings and escapism of the human psyche. I think the title fits very well with the poem.

The structure is not concrete, which only serves to add to the openness of the poem. It supports the thought that, in this land, anything can happen.

Excellent!

Very interesting poem. 1st stanza 3rd line, I wanted to read 'thought' - is this what you meant? I liked the flow of images, and the enigmatic questions too. Some verbiage could be trimmed, e.g. 5th stanza lacks something. 'You' becomes 'us' then 'you and your friend' takes the narrator back out of the poem. But all in all, a good read - thank you!

This is interesting. It has emotion, but is also confusing (in a good way).
One thing, however. Watch your spacing between lines, it didn't make sense in some places.

All in all, a good write!
