This is like one of those perplexingly simple zen truths - where it rings the bell and makes you smile with an irresistable realization.

A few years ago I heard someone speak of music in this way: that is was the space between notes that actually made a melody what it is. Not necessarily the notes themselves. Only they never expressed that fact as economically and expertly as you have.
