Paladins PromiseA Poem by silfrstjranaA holy warriors last wordsDeath be here With tender, cold caress. I beg of thee, find me a priest to whom
I may confess My sins Before death collects her fee. All my life I fought oppression; Protecting the poor my mission. From cruel kings demanding unjust dues, Controlling my brothers in arms like
pawns. With all my strength I fought Against their foul dominion. I stole from the evil their ill-gotten
gains To return to mouths and pockets of their
lowly serfs; Their grateful cries making me endeavour To do more Till the hold of the rich over the poor
doth wane And through fault of their own are clad
in chain. My time on earth slowly drains away. I lie here, My family All gathered before me. My sons and daughters: My pride in them Shines Like the morning star. I tell them this, Fighting tears away and then take deaths hand. Gladly trading my fear For peace and Serenity evermore. If you ever require aid against evil; In any form, My family stand strong, Always ready to weather any storm. Fight the good fight, Rebel against unjust might.
