Otherside

Based off the song 'Otherside' by Red Hot Chili Peppers, I took on the challenge of being inspired by my favorite song.

How long did I slide,

When I first heard your words and imagined your otherside?

Within it I found a place to hide,

To look inside, to separate my mind...

 

When sweet voices can be found in imagines of the past,

Once the time is captured, you will never get it back.

Reality is a wall that's paper thin,

Let's cut the walls and climb on in.

 

Now I'm here and reality is just a whim,

I finally separated my sides within my own skin.

 I hear the cords, I sing along,

For a slit throat sings only when reality is gone.

 

When the world pulls the trigger as I pull a thread,

The otherside is the only place I can go within my own head.

Now I see my reality is unraveling quick,

Only the otherside I created will do the trick.

 

Still farther and farther I slide,

As I hear you sing about your otherside.

As I slide, it becomes clearer,

My reality is gone, let the otherside no longer be just a reflection in the mirror.
