Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by The Silent Butterfly

tired of wasting my daylight

because i can never sleep at night

wondering if i'll ever be all right

my friends think i'm going crazy,

but hey, maybe i am.

so screw these nights.

screw these nights

i've been wasting

trying to figure you out.

screw 'em all cause this last one is for me.

but in pure reality, it isn't

my thoughts have been tainted

with

every

single

 memory

every hug

every kiss

every little thing

things you over looked

things you'll forget about in a week

or have you already?

screw these nights

these long nights

these nights where i lay still

begging for just a minute of sleep

begging for my eyes to close

and for my mind to succumb to the exhaustion
