Bleeding Under My Skin

My mom walks in with anger and death stamped across her face. My heart pounds against my chest as fast as a racehorse out of the starting gates. As I she walks towards me, my mind screaming for help, but my lips silent. I stare in trance, my body motionless, and all I can think about is whats going to happen next. Now she eye to eye,"So you wanna start snitching?"

Her words cuting deep into the still silence and as quickly as she spoke, her hands griping around my neck, sucking every breath. My lungs striving for air. Suddenly I hear a knock on the door and her hands release from my neck as quickly as they appeared. I try to look normal fixing my hair and covering up any possible bruises. I look behind her and there Eddie with a shy smile with balloons and a homemade card. My throat dry and my mom moved in to give me a hug I wearily respond and she whispers, "Wait until we get home your a*s is grass,"

She sat back up and with a big smile, "I love you'" She turns back around and looks at my friend ,"Aren't u gonna introduce me to your little friend, " Still in shock I manage to mumble out ,"This is Edward, " She smiles at the golden brown teddy bear attached to the card. Edward cowardly looks down and fumbles with his works,

"Umm Nice to meet you." He extends his hand, her smile fades and she looks back and says,

"I'll leave for a min. and remember what we talked about." Edward makes his way aside from the hospital bed. I look him dead in the eyes in a low whisperish voice I slightly yell,

" I need to get out OF HERE!"
