Alice And I

Alice And I

A Poem by Panda
"

I honestly have no idea how this poem ended up being about Alice in wonderland but enjoy XD

"
I woke to the sound
Of my own screaming
Clutching my blankets tightly
I teared up at the fading visions of my dreaming

So much pain
Carved this hollow frame
Made of the most fragile glass
Broken from the weight of blame

How can I
Still be standing here
Happiness is a Cheshire cat
Taunting before it disappears

Little child Alice
She ran as fast as she could
But the guards of eternal damnation
Caught her as she knew they would

The red queen of agony
Ordered for the death of me
A self hanging with the sad hatter
Should be the sight to see

I painted the roses red as wished
But it wasn't good enough
Good intentions and bad ideas
Don't mix well in a world without love

Alice is I as I am she
Wonderland is the labyrinth behind my closed eyes
A wretched land created of sadness and suffering
A land made for a girl with unheard cries

'Happiness is a Cheshire cat' -This a great metaphor.

This is a strong poem because it follows the idea of using Alice imagery all the way through until the end. If I would change anything, I would like to see it expanded to even show more clearly how the Alice characters are the metaphors for your dreams/emotional life. For example, who or what is "the sad hatter" to you? etc.
