Learning My Lesson

ugh not much to say here but i'm really tired and should get some rest XDD

A broken heart
Quickly turns from tears into laughter
Finally seeing the truth
In a false illusion of what it was after

What I had sought for so long
I finally realized it was never actually there
I gave away everything I had
So if you ask I have nothing left to spare

Clenched fists of pain
Are sure to loosen up in defeat
Still standing with a smile as the rain starts to fall
Doesn't it taste bittersweet

Good thing I'll for sure one day
Have turned this situation around
I will have to be the one who walks away
If it means none of my feeling are left crushed on the ground

I may be called heartless
But what use is it to have one
When the one you love is only going to throw it away
Or crush it when they've had their fun

I myself will the paint the sky I've yearned for
And grow my own set own wings
And only will I ever allow my heart show it's shine
Is when the lonely midnight wolf sings

This is great! I know exactly the feeling of looking back, and realizing that you're glad it's over. Lovely poem.
