I’m no princess locked in a tower

Not a beauty in disguise

I’ve got an ugly side to me

But that’s really no surprise

I’m not insanely pretty

And to me, being average is fine

I see no reason in dolling up

Or being as smart as Einstein

I’m just another girl

Trying to make it through

Hoping that I can do it

Somehow make my dreams come true

Don’t say I’m an angel

Because I don’t even come close

I’m just an invisible poet

Addicted to inspirations overdose

Darling this ain’t no fairytale

I’m no damsel who needs a knight

But if you can hold me close

That’d be completely alright
