Seductive Misery

Seductive Misery

A Poem by Panda

Why do you make me want
Something I will never get
And why is it so hard to ignore you
And impossible to forget

Why are you like nicotine
Something to become addicted to
And I've been trying to quit
But I never knew how hard that was to do

Why are you like a song
That easily gets stuck in my brain
Replaying over and over
It's close to driving me insane

Why are you like a tornado
I keep fighting but never win
And no matter what I do
I constantly keep getting sucked in

Why do you keep me hanging on
When you don't really love me
Stop playing with my heart
And end this seductive misery

Enticing and seductive itself, great expressions and comparisons. Easy to relate to but not taken lightly.

This piece is really gripping and I'm positive that many can relate, though only few know how truly painful unrequited love can feel. The last two stanzas are my favorite because to me, they really show the meaning behind the overall poem. A great read!
