Chapters in my Life

Every poem ever written
By the pen held in my hand
Are small pieces of me
Like a small grain of sand

Some are written with happiness or anger
Or every other emotion in between
They are words I don’t say out loud
But in writing, they can be seen

If I didn’t have poetry
I don’t know how I’d survive
It’s like a tank of oxygen under water
I need it to stay alive

It helps me get from day to day
To look on the bright side of things
I’d much rather have an empty journal
Then a grown set of angel wings

Poetry is my inspiration
It is stitched into my soul
And poetry is a like a guardian angel
One that I will never ever let go
