Smothering till there’s no shred of light

Once he’s got his fangs in you
Believe me, he won’t let go
He’ll suck everything out of you
Until you’re pale as snow

You’re helpless in this dance
Because he’s got you wrapped in ribbon
And soon you shall see that his once
Sweet embrace has in fact become your prison

He feeds of your attention
He needs you to fill him up
Only his heart is like a cup without a bottom
It will never be enough

You’re like a band aid to him
You temporarily take away the pain
But all the effort you put into him
Will only go down the drain

You better start swimming away
Before you get too far away from shore
It’s best to leave him now
Because he’ll always be craving more
