To A Friend

old poem but wanted to post it..enjoy :)

You're so fragile
Like glass; you can easily break
So many have already hurt you
And i don't want to make that mistake
I'm scared of the honesty
That is revealed within your eyes
I don't want to speak the truth
When it can easily become lies
I'm sad to know
That I can be another who has broken your heart
Because I know love is not a game
And you can't simply hit restart
I'm afraid to believe in love
Because then i would have to care
And i know we can both get hurt
if deep affection isn't there
But I'll take a chance on you
Because you are my very best friend
And i hope that in the promise of forever,
That "forever" will never end
